Task A.
In short sentences, briefly describe the following:
* What is RISK?
* Are there different types of risk, and if so, please list them?
* Define Risk Management?
* What are the benefits of Risk Management to an organisation?
* How often should a workplace evaluate their risk management strategy?'
Task B.
There are risks in everything we do. Using the knowledge and skills you have developed in this unit, and based
on your experiences in your workplace, you are to provide a written report detailing
your analysis of risks in your workplace.
Where
to start? Identify
risks/hazard in your workplace. To do this you will need to conduct a work area
inspection using a workplace checklist. You will also need to refer to other
appropriate records in the workplace to be able to identify the hazard and
minimise the risk by using the hierarchy of controls. For example:
Inspection
checklists
Accident
and injury reports
Statistics
from or about accidents or injuries
Minutes
from workgroup meetings on health and safety
Workplace procedures, e.g. maintenance checks, chemical storage, evacuation procedures, or any new procedures
Discuss the implications of the hazard you have identified and the appropriate control measures recommended.
You may want to use a table grapically display your information.
Task C.
Briefly outline procedures used in your workplace to control risk?
* List the forms that are used
* List the people who are responsible
* List any records that you keep in your workplace for risk management (file names only required)
* List the strategies for ongoing monitoring and evaluation.
Well done, your assessment is now complete.
On completion of all 3 tasks, you can email your report to sts.training@bigpond.com, or print your report and post it to p.o. box 152 Canungra QLD 4275.
Always make sure that your name is clearly displayed on all pages of your report.
