Diploma of Management  

·        This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are engaged to manage the work of others or to add value to or review management practices.

·        Your role may be in any industry or organisational setting. Typically people in these roles will have considerable experience in their respective industries or vocational areas and couple an informed perspective of the specific work requirements with their managerial approaches.

·        The BSB51107 Diploma of Management requires a sound theoretical knowledge base and managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate own work and/or the work of a team.

 

Job Roles

 

Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include:

·         Coordinator

·         Leading Hand

·         Supervisor

·         Team Leader.

 

 

To complete this qualification, you must complete the assessment activities for 8 units.
You must do all core units and then select 5 elective units..

 

There are a variety of resources used to complete this course.

1.       You may already have some skills, and you can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning – discuss this option with your trainer.

2.       Your study will reflect a combination of work practices and new learning, your assessments will include Case Studies that can be built around your workplace.

3.       A text book – MGMT will be provided for your learning

4.       Additional resources and learning activities are found online

5.       We know that your work is a priority and people are busy, so there’s very little time to put aside to attend classes - you will be supported by your trainer via email, phone and meetings in your time frame.

6.       We have also scheduled workshops throughout the year that you may like to attend, these are supplementary to the learning – and you do not need to come to any workshops to complete the assessments.

7.       You can request one on one training sessions, which will be conducted usually via OnLine Conferencing software.

Getting ready to study

 

It’s time to start studying, before you start, take the time to get organised. 

·        Think about when you are going to be able to study, set aside time to work on your assignments.

·        Create a new folder on your computer to save all of your documents, and make sure that you backup your work.

·        Don’t forget to use the Internet to research topics

·        Find a mentor in your workplace, who is willing to discuss issues with you, as they are presented from time to time in the workbooks.
