SUBJECT: Replacing Gary Denver?
You might remember me mentioning Gary Denver to you - he's a plant manager in my department.
Well, enough's enough. He's been a problem right from the start and things are getting out of hand. He's hardly ever at work and spends hours at the pub over lunch. I don't mind a beer myself, but never during working hours. It's not on.
Our PM procedures say I need to seek advice from you before the move's made to sack him. The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned.
As far as replacing him goes, Sarah Wiegman, the Industrial Engineer, has excellent managerial skills and is more than ready for a promotion. She received 'above expectations' ratings on her last performance review report. You've probably seen her around. She's always pleasant, to say the least.
What time this afternoon can we sack Gary?
