SUBJECT: Industrial Relations at STAR Industries
STAR has never articulated its industrial relations policy. I believe that an audit of STAR's past and current IR status will provide a starting point for developing ourIR policy.
Before we develop our IR policy, I would like to articulate what I believe should be STAR's IR philosophy:
'All members of STAR are valued and valuable. We respect one another and we take decisions that are in the best interests of all STAR stakeholders. Co-operative and harmonious workplace relations are expected and will be rewarded.'
I hope this helps in framing the IR audit that I would like you all to conduct and use as a guide for expected outcomes of our IR activities. Especially highlight where we can do better in our relations with staff so that we can address these via our IR policy and plan.
