SUBJECT: Stalemate in Negotiations
Two of my staff have approached me and indicated that they speak for the majority of staff when they mention their unwillingness to agree to the proposed bonus payments for productivity increases mentioned in recent negotiations.
They are right when they say that the offer is les than the present award entitlements.
This may be a managerial oversight or mistake.
I know that management is aware of the current industrial relations legislation that provides that no employee is allowed to be disadvantaged in any new agreement when compared with the existing award. Management needs to look at this issue.
I formally request that management meet with staff to explain the situation and resolve this dispute.
