SUBJECT: Implement, Administer, and Monitor Work/Life Program at STAR 

Congratulations on your team's achievements so far with the work/life balance program. I have seen the implementation plan and agree with it. I am well aware that HR programs such as this, which rely heavily on people's cooperation, can get bogged down when the spotlight is on other issues.  

This is one program that we can't afford to let go. We can't forfeit the productivity improvements or damage our credibility with staff.  

Please ensure that the plan is implemented and monitored as thoroughly as possible. This means that a system must be in place to continuously improve the program. Formal monitoring is important, and don't forget that all stakeholders need to be involved in monitoring the program on a routine basis. I want work/life balance to be an ongoing part of STAR's culture. 

I would like you and your team to put together a report to be delivered to stakeholders that will let them know what the key milestones achieved are, as well as a timeline for the expected achievement of these milestones and some indication of how we'll know that this has been done. Make it as straightforward as you possibly can, which means that you will need to think carefully about this.  

Suffice to say that you have my full support in this project.
