Hi. About the shoulder injury case from the warehouse. Our return to work coordinator there, Jennifer Moffat, is very new, and I'm not sure she's up to speed with injury management in general, and working out suitable duties in particular. Also, given the fact that your review showed we have to improve our performance in rehabilitation and return to work, I'd like you to personally oversee the management of this case.
I want you to coach Jennifer by involving yourself closely in the management of this injury and provide a model for procedures which Jennifer can then follow in the future.
To get the return to work plan going, check with the doctor, see if the supervisor has ideas for alternate duties and then make sure these are OK with the worker himself. Everyone needs to be on board for the plan to work.
Also, I want you to check whether Jeremy's job entails risks that are likely to injure someone else doing the same job - or to re-injure Jeremy when he goes back to the job. If so, then the job will need to be modified in some way to eliminate or reduce the risk.
