I'm just getting back to you about the workers compensation claim for lower back pain for one of STAR's Storemen, Oleg Marzinsky.  

This is just to let you know in advance that we're not accepting that claim. I'll send you the formal notification by post, and I'll be writing to Oleg too, of course. This email is simply a courtesy note. 

Our assessors have denied liability on the basis that the injury may not be wholly or substantially work-related. In other words, if he hurt his back clearing a fire break behind his house (as our assessor heard from some of his work colleagues) and work wasn't a significant contributing factor, then it's not covered by workers comp.
